The Solana Beach School District gives high priority
to learning activities that challenge higher-order thinking skills and
activities that promote active engagement. The state adopted content
standards serve as a guide for curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Content standards are designed to encourage the highest achievement
of all students by defining the knowledge, concepts, and skills that
students should acquire at each grade level. Using the standards as
our guide, the Solana Beach School District uses research-based practices
to implement a challenging, integrated core curriculum that meets the
differentiated needs of all students and is evaluated by a comprehensive
assessment system.
